René Tomás Cuy López

Dear members and interested people!
We can announce again that we have been given the opportunity to help a great person. Everything went so fast and our membership fees were sufficient to complete everything immediately. Thanks for that!

René Tomás Cuy López is 37 years old and lives in Guatemala with his wife and four children.
He worked as a kitchen helper and needed our help for his education to properly finance his family.
In Guatemala, the form of training to cook does not exist as we know it in Germany. There are several costly seminars to be held, which makes you a chef.

In order to bring René further, we financed his contributions with three of these seminars as well as all necessary course materials and utensils such as books, knives, apron and a chef’s jacket.

Since our specula protégés do not live far apart, today we combine our projects.
Francisco Garcia got a sewing machine from us at that time. Now Francisco decorated the new René chef’s jacket with our Specula logo.

We think it’s great that the two support each other and are very grateful to be a part of it.
We wish all the best to René and hope for many delicious recipes from him!

What’s next?
We, the board, of Specula is already looking for something new and looking for new tasks! News follow!

Marta ́s Vanille Cup Cakes Rezept!

Our dear Marta from Guatemala eagerly bakes her delicious vanilla cup cakes with the oven donated by us ! Of course we do not want to deprive you of the recipe!

Who wants to bake it may also send us a taste feedback! Of course, we also send your messages to Marta.

1/2 pound butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla (of course the good real from Guatemala)
1 cup of milk

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top / bottom heat). Then stir the butter with the sugar until creamy and add the eggs in succession. After each added egg, stir the mixture very well. Then mix the remaining dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) with the mixture. Finally, vanilla and milk are added. The mass is then filled into the appropriate cupcake / muffin molds and baked at 25-30 minutes. With much love, everything is now eaten with friends!

Good appetite and thank you for your support!

Neuigkeiten beim Specula e.V.

There is news Thanks to your help, we were again able to support Byron . We funded his „brain mapping“ investigation, which helped him with his epilepsy response once again.

We would like to thank our members in particular, as we were able to make this possible exclusively through membership fees.

We, the Specula eV board, are busy planning new goals. At this meeting even with our dear Claudia, who supports us on the ground in Guatemala.

Wir möchten Byron noch einmal helfen! Mit Eurer Unterstützung!

We start something new! Byron from Guatemala already got medication for his epilepsy to help him live a simpler life.
Now he needs a „brain mapping“. This is an examination of the brain to detect its currents and thus facilitate an urgent operation. So that Byron can tackle this operation, we decided to help him again. With your help. We use explicit donations and membership fees and hope to get 1600 quetzales (about 200 Euro)!

We have supported Byron before and we want to support Byron again, true to our motto „Help for Self-Help“! Donate here or just become a member!

We thank you for your support!

Stay up to date with our current projects!

Neues Design der Homepage!

We’ve just completed the move to the new site, but are just working on a few corners. Are still some bugs, but that should be eradicated soon 🙂

At this point, we would also like to thank our members for their support in the form of the annual contribution 2017! We would like to give you an update on the current project with Marta  here in the coming days  and also present a new project in the next few weeks!
